Thank you, Linda, for recognizing the need for Christians to be a part of the secular work place. I agree with the professor who stated that the film industry would be different if Christians had not shunned it during its inception. My hope is that we have learned from history and will not repeat that mistake. We have the opportunity in the area of Life Coaching.

Thanks for sharing quality writing and great insight.

Linda, I love your new site. It's easy to navigate, easy on the eyes, inviting, I love your picture and the fact that your blouse is coordinated with the site as well. I love the short sound bite inviting people. And the "I want it!" rather than "subscribe" or "submit". Very professional and pleasing all the way around. Good job! I'm really impressed.

Linda -

What a great blog. I just read the item above...really hits home with me. Your response is worded very well.

I see two dynamics going on here....

People who want to coach others using their unique gifts and life experiences and people who are seeking coaching.

As a coach I need to focus on the target market I am looking for and not take on clients just to fill up the schedule - that is not fair to me or the client.

Coaches need to be sensitive for people who not only fit into my target market, but are also truly interested in making changes in their lives and willing to take action to do so.

Jerri, thank you for the correction! I'm honored that you're paying attention. Thanks for founding this event! This is the third year I've participated. It's such a fun opportunity to reach out and share information and services. It's fun to celebrate as part of the global coaching community! Thank you truly.

Good to hear from you, Dave! Thank you for sharing your feedback. I'm glad God calls coaches to different paths - for some it's certification and for others not. I find it facinating to see how God leads and they way God works through coaching.

Good article Linda. I coach full time and train coaches as you do. One reason I run into for some who choose not to be certified though groups like ICF is the cost and time commitment required. The training is great, just beyond what they can afford. I appreciate your openness to the fact that some will choose to be certified and some not. Keep up the good work.

Wow, all I can say is AMEN, AMEN, AMEN! The biggest mistake new and rising servicepreneurs make is treating their business like a job. When one enters this field with the idea that being good at what they do is all they need to find clients, they are destined for grave disappointment. Business start up is tough - no matter what type of business. But beginning with the right frame of mind about business success will give you a running start. Persistence will carry you even further!! Thanks for a great post.
